Note: This is the first of two night markets that the students will get to experience in Taipei.
Today we went to the Tonghua night market which is one of the top night markets in Taipei city. The market is lined with traditional and classic street food stands as well as small clothing stores.

While you might expect to find a wide selection of food, what you might not expect is to get Michelin Star quality food at a night market. A stall in Alley 50 called Taiwan Crispy Chicken was awarded a Michelin Star. You can get a fine dining experience in Taipei for less than $2!

With so many options, the first thing we ate was Rou Jia Mo. also called a Chinese hamburger, it had a crispy flakey bun and was filled with pork onions and chili oil. Then we got deep fried sweet potato balls which the students we met at our partner school today recommended. They were so good! They have topping options but decided to get the original.
