We Have Arrived (and we’re already having a blast!)

Greetings everyone, we landed in Taipei about 3 hours ago. After we made our way through customs, we had about an hour at the airport before our bus arrived. Did you know that if you visit Taipei, you can enter a tourism lottery? https://5000.taiwan.net.tw/index_en.html

Thanks to the tip from one of our parents who traveled to Taipei, we all registered on the off chance that one of us would win $5000 TWD (which is a little more than $150). This money is loaded on what are known as Easy Cards which can be used for transportation or at any one of hundreds of 7-11s (it deserves its own blog post but the 7-11s in Taipei are not the same as the ones you find stateside). Well, one of us didn’t win…
