Amara W. – Reflection on Connections with AHSNCCU Students

These past few days we’ve gone to our partner school in Taiwan, AHSNCCU, to connect with students and to learn a little about what school can be like in Taiwan. In small groups, together we created little presentations about the differences and similarities and presented them all to each other.

Students from AHSNCCU joined us on several field trips around Taipei, from exploring temples to night markets.

NWS Chinese students also got a chance to connect or reconnect with our pen pals and exchange students! NWS students got to shadow an AHSNCCU student for one of their classes (it was wither Ethics or PE depending on the student). It was an amazing chance to see the similarities and differences between our two school (which happens to be our Forum topic)!

Finally, we took the gondola ride up the MaoKong mountainside and into the tea museum and we ended the day with a lovely tea tasting.

Meeting with AHSNCCU students was my personal highlight of Taipei so far! I know I and several other NWS students plan to meet up with our new friends again on our free day in Taipei on Sunday!
